This summer season choose a stylish eyewear that not only provides UV protection but also cares for the environment.

Wodd PH is the country’s leading sustainable bamboo sunglasses. apart from supporting the livelihood of bamboo farmers, it supports biodiversity because a tree is planted every time a Wodd eyewear is purchased.

The brand was started by entrepreneur and educator Dr. Stephene Roy Condino, also known to his colleagues as Doc Bigs. In an interview with Net 25 morning show “Kada Umaga” with host Pia Guaino, Doc Bigs shared that Wodd was a response to the global “ no plastic ‘ environmental campaign.

“My family is from the Visayas and we are susceptible to typhoons. When our house was damaged, my mother asked me to source materials to rebuild our home. That’s when I realized that almost all of the products in the market are made from plastic. And so, I thought, why don’t we as Filipinos, create a product from a sustainable material, ” he said.

Wodd offers two types of eyewear the full bamboo sunglasses that float on water, and the hybrid model made of minimal plastic, for those who may be allergic to bamboo. It’s the perfect accessory for beach lovers, especially for provinces that ban the use of plastic materials in the beach area.

The bamboo used for the eyewear is sourced from Cebu while the Cat 3 polarized lenses are imported from Japan.  Top designer brands also use the Cat 3 polarized lenses but cost five times more than Wodd.

“We started Wodd during the pandemic, and for the past four years, we have been rapidly growing. We have 240 partner stores which include 5-star resorts and hotels, surf shops, and cafes.  We are also in major stores like Kultura and Robinsons.”

The growth is also marked by its sustainability journey. To date, over 1800 trees have been planted across the country.  This year Wodd also renewed its partnership with nature conservation organizations Haribon and Talarak. The tree-planting project is in partnership with Haribon. “Through these joint initiatives, we envision to strengthen public awareness on the importance of  biodiversity and wildlife protection.”

This summer season get up to 10% off on all sunglasses from the brand’s partner stores.  Wodd is a proud member of the MASA Group of Companies.

The eyewear is also available at MASA’s  newly-open Coastal Grounds Coffee House in Siargao.
