As lifestyles change and digital needs of customers continue to grow, PLDT’s international arm PLDT Global Corporation (PLDT Global) has continued to deliver products and services to global Filipinos, empowering them to conveniently look after their families back in the Philippines while connecting them to a digital future.

PLDT Global has boosted their suite of offerings through Tindahan ni Bossing (TINBO), which allow Filipinos to conveniently pay for Philippine bills, top up mobile phones, among others, backed up by the company’s digital distribution platform Vortex. As of December, digital distribution solution Vortex had over 32 international partners servicing more than 2,000 corporate and carrier partnerships catering to the digital ecosystem of global Filipinos. On the other hand, one-stop gateway TINBO has seen 75% growth in users since its launch in August this year.

“PLDT Global is in the business of encouraging meaningful connections for the migrant Filipino. With our customers as our north star, we continually look for ways to bring the services of our partners closer to the overseas Filipino market, in our advocacy to bring them closer to a future defined by digital connections. We want to empower overseas Filipinos by enabling them to take care of their families — making their lives better no matter where they are in the world,” said Albert V. Villa-Real, President and CEO at PGC.

TINBO subscribers can be issued via tinbo.ph a Smart Virtual Number (SVN), that serves as their Philippine mobile number whenever they are outside the country. The TINBO Number, powered by Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), PLDT Inc.’s wireless unit, allows users to receive calls and texts without a physical SIM, including one-time passwords (OTPs), for secure payment transactions.

Through TINBO, users can also easily access services for their connectivity and financial needs, pay bills via Bayad, embrace digital banking with Maya – the all-in-one money app, and access the subscription plans of the country’s fastest growing health app mWell that are tailored for their needs.

PLDT Global also signed a partnership with fintech company Venio to enable Filipinos in North America and the Middle East to seamlessly access a platform with different digital financial services for payment processing, marketplace solutions, financing, and transfers.

Recently, PLDT Global also teamed up with homegrown Filipino company FadTech Telecom, providing customers in Japan with a means to conveniently pay for bills, buy load, and purchase electronic gifts to send to their families back home, especially during holidays and special occasions. In the United Arab Emirates, PLDT Global has opened service access in Filipino grocery stores through its partner Sandbox.

These efforts are part of a broader PLDT program aligned to help the country achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goal #9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and underscores the company’s focus area of connecting Filipinos everywhere.
