Manila, Philippines, 1 September 2023 — Schneider Electric has forged a 5-year partnership with the technical vocational institution Dualtech Training Center Foundation, Inc. (Dualtech). The goal of the partnership is to enhance the Tech Voc program of the institution and support more young Filipino scholars to become highly competitive skilled workers. This is in response to the global transition to Industrial 4.0 that requires upskilling of the workforce to become equipped in electrical, mechanical and automation labor. 

As part of the partnership, Schneider Electric has committed to donate PHP3M worth of electrical and electronic equipment which will be utilized for the training of its scholars. Additionally, Schneider Electric will also be offering mentorship initiatives where Dualtech scholars will learn from a pool of Schneider Electric experts.

We’re committed to do our part in fostering a future-ready skilled workforce. Our partnership with Dualtech will enable us to empower the next generation of Filipino workforce to harness their full potential and lead the development of a more sustainable and digitally driven future,” shares Ireen Go-Catane, President of Schneider Electric Philippines. 

Dualtech, accredited by TESDA, offers a 2-Year Electromechanics Technology course that combines electrical, mechanical, and electronics disciplines. Due to the global rise in demand for skilled workers, the institution is working to modernize its training program and facilities to accommodate more young scholars. Its partnerships with private institutions such as Schneider Electric have been crucial in resolving issues on shortages in necessary training equipment and tools. 

“Behind every student in Dualtech is a story and every scholar who receives help is essentially a family receiving help as well so we’re constantly finding ways to be able to cater to more scholars. The support of Schneider Electric Philippines to our institution is valuable as it would aid us to achieve our objective. We believe that the donations and the mentorship program that they’re offering will greatly help improve Dualtech’s capability to develop more competitive future skilled workers and will also allow us to advance our technical vocation program,” Engr. Jerry Webb Muhi, President and Executive Director of Dualtech. 

Part of Schneider Electric’s philanthropic initiatives in line with the Schneider Electric Sustainability Impact and UN SDGs, focuses on supporting the youth across the world with education and training to allow them to improve their quality of life. Globally, the company has committed to train 1 million youth on energy management to equip them with the right skills to lead in the shift to digital transformation.
