Samsung’s midrage Galaxy A30 and A50 have ultra-wide cameras and aggressive pricing

Samsung’s aggressive pricing of its 2019 smartphones continue with the P13,990 Galaxy A30 (curved 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Exynos 7904, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, 16MP+5MP ultrawide, 4,000mAh with fast charging) and P17,990 Galaxy A50 (same display and battery as the A30, Exynos 9610, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, 25MP+8MP ultrawide+5MP depth sensor). The Galaxy A50 is the better spec’d and with a great price – it offers bokeh (blurred background shots), good-in-low-light stills (with the 25MP F1.7 camera), and an ultrawide angle lens (at 123 degrees) for no-stepping-back group group shots and landscapes; plus a huge expandable 128GB storage. The Galaxy A50 is among the lowest priced (as of this writing) smartphones with an in-display fingerprint sensor. See full specs below.

Preorders start are from March 16 to 29, with preorder buyers getting a Samsung 10,000mAh power back (worth P1,299), a JBL Go 2 (worth 2,299), and a mini tripod. Buyers on March 30 to 31, when both A30 and A50 will be available, get the JBL GO 2 speaker as a freebie. Both products were launched today at Green Sun, Makati City.
