Manila, Philippines – With over 300 member schools and attracting a membership of more than 50,000 marketing and business students, the Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA) stands at the forefront of invigorating creative education.

Its flagship event named MadWorld was established more than a decade ago, and its inception is a clever portmanteau of “marketing and advertising”. Its name seemed fitting to showcase the changes in the marketing and advertising landscape. MadWorld continues to bring new insights among its attendees as they learn how to adapt to the industry’s fast-changing innovativeness.

Jos Ortega, CEO of Havas Ortega Group and co-founder of PJMA’s MadWorld, found that making a network of mentors and acquiring industry-specific knowledge to the aspiring marketers helps better prepare them for the professional world. Naturally, he sought to make the process easier. The conference and its activities that lead up to the main event day stem from Ortega’s desire to cultivate his personal advocacy on youth education.

“MadWorld represents our continued dedication and commitment to youth education through mentorship and counsel, as well as nurturing the future talent pool of the marketing industry in the Philippines.  We are privileged and honored to have industry rockstars as our resource speakers and supporters of PJMA’s largest annual event,” says Ortega

Through MadWorld, the PJMA and Havas Ortega collaboration includes year-long mentorship and activities that will help prepare the PJMA MadWorld leaders to launch the event. This takes form in internal program activities, where best practices are discussed and shared. One activity is the MadWorld Bootcamp, a full-day session with topics centered to support the theme for the year. Each mentor is carefully selected based on their expertise to ensure access to the latest in creative, digital, and media education. Mentors of the agency include C-suite and Director-level leaders like Chief Digital Officer Shayne Madamba on “Digital in Marketing” and Creative Director Gerry Cacanindin on “Creativity Matters”.

Throughout the years, the contribution of Havas Ortega in creating award-winning meaningful work showcases how they are making a meaningful difference to brands, businesses, and people. In this continued partnership, PJMA marketers are right to earmark strategies and practices from the agency’s examples.

This year, the big event returns to SM Mall of Asia Arena on June 3. Ortega will be giving a keynote about outsmarting trends. Considering the ever-changing marketing landscape, aspirants can gain valuable insight on how to be an early adapter. Ever passionate about bringing diverse minds, the Country Channel Partnerships Lead of TikTok, Joseph Albert Meñez, the Managing Director of Universal Music Philippines, Enzo Valdez, Canva’s Head of Growth, Maisie Littaua, and the Editorial and Creative Director of Adobo Magazine, Chaz Requiña will also be guest speakers.

Ortega is proud to say that year after year, thousands of junior marketers from around the Philippines attend the event. This will be the first live event since the pandemic, Ortega is excited to continue the conversation. MadWorld: Playing the New Spot will happen on June 3, 2023 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
