Batangas City, PHILIPPINES – Brother Philippines, in collaboration with its sister company, Brother Industries (Philippines), Inc., successfully organized a coastal cleanup drive in Pawikan Sanctuary, Barangay Pinagbayanan, San Juan Batangas on June 24. This joint effort showcased the companies’ unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and their dedication to making a positive impact on local communities.

The coastal cleanup event saw 222 volunteers from both Brother Philippines and Brother Industries (Philippines), Inc. coming together to address the pressing issue of marine pollution. For its second consecutive year, the dedicated team took on the challenge of cleaning up a vast 2-3 kilometer stretch of San Juan’s coastline. Their unwavering determination resulted in an impressive collection of 120 sacks of plastic trash after the cleanup. This annual initiative showcases their ongoing commitment to making a significant environmental impact and fostering a cleaner, greener future for all.

“Brother Philippines is driven by a strong sense of responsibility to give back to the communities we operate in, and to protect the environment for future generations. Through our coastal cleanup drive, we underscore our dedication to promoting environmental sustainability and contributing to a cleaner, greener future,” said Glenn Hocson, President of Brother Philippines.

Brother Philippines’ commitment to environmental stewardship extends far beyond this coastal cleanup initiative. As a company deeply invested in promoting environmental sustainability, Brother Philippines consistently strives to implement impactful programs and initiatives to achieve a better, greener environment.

The Brother Group, under its unifying slogan “Brother Earth,” endeavors to harness the collective strength of its global network to address environmental challenges through responsible corporate practices and meaningful community engagement. The coastal cleanup in San Juan reflects the company’s commitment to support its adopted United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal: Life Below Water, which emphasizes the preservation and sustainable use of marine resources and ecosystems.

“Continuing the momentum from last year’s coastal clean-up activity, we have once again succeeded in collecting a total of 120 sacks of non-biodegradable plastic waste this year. We remain resolute in our commitment to tackle this ecological challenge and prevent the pollution of our coastlines, thereby averting the perilous impact on the delicate balance of marine life,” said Mr. Hiroki Yamamoto, President of Brother Industries Philippines, Inc.

Brother Philippines expresses its heartfelt gratitude to all the volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to this endeavor. Their hard work and dedication serve as a testament to the power of collective action in creating a positive impact on our environment.
