Committed to making every day extraordinary with their high-performing mobile devices, Sony launches the 86,400 photography competition, a challenge create a unique photo-gallery to weave a visual collage of a day in the Asia-Pacific region.

With 86,400 seconds in each day to enjoy, explore and experience life, Sony Mobile’s 86,400 campaign aims to inspire individuals from countries such as the Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and other countries across the region to find and share their personal extraordinary moments from each and every one of these seconds. These moments will then be collated to form a larger regional narrative.

“We’re excited to see the tapestry that emerges from this. We know that now, more than ever, consumers use their smartphones to capture images, but what do they take pictures of?” said Chang Seng Hock, Marketing Director, Sony Mobile Communications SEAO. “It is in Sony’s spirit to inspire and empower people’s curiosity, and through this campaign, we want to engage the world in showing us their version of extraordinary through their photographs.”

Sony's 86,400 Seconds Photo Contest

In the Philippines, blogger and musician Saab Magalona was challenged by Sony to take extraordinary photos of her weekend getaway using nothing but her own Xperia Z3. Saab highlighted three of Xperia’s powers, and through this challenge on social media, brought to life these specific features – long-lasting battery life, low-light photography, and waterproof capabilities. Images were shared with her followers telling how life never ceases to surprise. With this campaign, Filipinos were able to see extraordinary in the point of view of Saab and Sony, inspiring fans to choose to see beauty in the simplest of things.

“A long-lasting battery is essential for a smartphone to ensure you never miss a moment of magic when you are out and about,” said Saab. “I am glad my Sony Xperia kept up with me as I went further and further in exploring an unexpected weekend in the beach!”

“At Sony, we empower the digital lifestyles of Filipinos not just with class-leading mobile devices but with opportunities that enable them to put the extra in ordinary so they can tell inspiring stories in their own way through photographs,” said Jhoana Benedicto, Marketing Officer for Mobile, Sony Philippines. “With this campaign, Filipinos can now see the wonderful side of their every day, take mobile photography to the next level, and eventually be rewarded.”
