Global smart device brand OPPO will be joining the launch of Save the Children Philippines’ “HOPE Online” fundraising project, which aims to facilitate children’s online learning while keeping them safe and healthy during this unprecedented health crisis.

HOPE (“Humanity as One. Protecting. Educating”) Online will begin on August 15, 4PM to 630PM, the week of the Humanitarian Day global celebration and will continue for the next two Saturdays after. As it culminates on the eve of National Heroes Day, everyone is encouraged to be a hero in their own way much like the ambassadors who will be dedicating time and talent to the cause. Katarina Rodriguez, Xia Vigor, and Ria Atayde will be hosting the event series and will be streamed on Save the Children Philippines’ Facebook page.

During the online event, OPPO brand ambassador Janine Gutierrez will be joining to talk about OPPO’s ongoing #eSchoolWithOPPO campaign which includes its fundraising partnership with Save the Children Philippines. Special raffle prizes await the participants of the program.

Last June 2020, OPPO’s partnered with Save the Children to donate 100 brand new units of the latest OPPO A12e and 100 new Rock Space Torch Bluetooth earphones for Save The Children’s Project ARAL advocacy campaign. This partnership also includes the goal of raising a total of P500,000 to help provide basic learning kits to Filipino students in need to support them in their transition to e-learning. Each kit includes art materials, notebooks, pencils and other learning tools needed to ensure better educational experience for the beneficiaries.

HOPE Online will also feature song and dance performances from celebrities, learning and storytelling sessions, and games with the audience – all while sending messages of assurance and optimism for children.

“We’re committed to our partnership with Save the Children and we hope that with this activity, we will be able to raise more funds for Filipino students who are transitioning to distance learning. At OPPO, we strive to be a sustainable company that contributes to a better world, and this is part of our way to achieve that vision,” OPPO Philippines Marketing Director Raymond Xia said.

Atty. Alberto Muyot, Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children Philippines encourages people to rise to the challenge of helping out the children who need the most help: “Your generosity, through our HOPE Online project, will help us raise funds to provide educational supplies, age-specific learning modules, and digital devices for some 7,300 learners from poor communities in Caloocan, Navotas, Malabon, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Eastern Samar.”

HOPE Online is sponsored by Britpart, a fellow champion for education, and supported by OPPO Philippines for the benefit of Save the Children’s Project ARAL (Access to Resource for Alternative Learning) to bridge learning continuity gaps amid COVID-19.
