MAPFRE now accredited for Schengen visa, travel insurance made more affordable

As international borders continue to reopen with less restrictions, global tourist arrivals more than doubled this year according to the UN World Tourism Organization. Some countries no longer require tests and quarantine, like in some parts of Europe.

Filipinos who would like to travel to Europe now have better chances of doing so with the recent Schengen Visa accreditation of MAPFRE and its improved travel insurance. With Schengen Visa applications requiring a travel insurance coverage of €30,000, MAPFRE takes care of you as its travel policy covers at least €35,000. This enables Filipinos to visit different countries worry-free, knowing they have a reliable safety net to cover their needs.

MAPFRE also increased its travel insurance’s COVID-19 coverage for up to US$50,000. This includes medical treatment and expenses, repatriation of remains, trip cancellation, and curtailment. It also has other benefits for inconveniences like delayed departure, missed connecting flight, baggage delay, and loss or destruction of checked-in and hand-carry luggage.

“MAPFRE takes pride in its recent accreditation for Schengen Visa. It is a testament to the quality of our services and insurance solutions for Filipinos,” said Tirso C. Abad, MAPFRE Insurance President and CEO. “We also made our travel insurance packages more affordable in hopes of providing peace of mind to our kababayans wherever they may be visiting,” he added.
