Galaxy Racer, the official esports partner of Collegiate Center for Esports (CCE) Season 1, has brought the tournament to a heightened level of participation, following, and online engagement.

Kicking off last June, CCE Season 1: New Arena To Conquer is participated in by ten colleges and universities that seed their best team to conquer the first and official MLL: BB Collegiate Esports Tournament in the Philippines supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).

Kirstin Montales, the co-founder of CCE, said, “Though the prize pool is the tangible reward, the real prize here is the mobilization of the dream of esports student-athletes towards their end goal. If they want to be a professional esports athlete, be in the esports industry, or pursue their bachelor’s degree, it is now easier to achieve because there is already a solid support system from the school.”

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) agrees with the vision of CCE and has officially endorsed the tournament. “CCE has the perfect vision and wants to unite all students under one organization that pushes for positive growth in all aspects of Esports. It is a growing industry; it is about time we pick up the pace and give our students the much-needed support,” said JM Vergara, regional sports director for CHED.

According to a published report by Statista, “Gaming through consoles, mobile, or PC has been gaining traction among Filipinos, especially among the younger generation. There is a strong preference in using mobile phones for Gaming largely due to the accessibility of low-cost smartphones and mobile internet infrastructures.” This report supports CCE’s choice of the game title, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, one of the Philippines’ most popular online mobile games. In fact, MLBB Professional League is the number 1 esports in the country at this time and is commonly referred to as the basketball equivalent of esports.

“Galaxy Racer supports CCE in its vision to uplift esports in the country, especially among college students,” said Marcia Guillermo, country manager of Galaxy Racer Philippines. “We believe there is a strong partnership between our organizations in further promoting and making esports even and accessible, with the end goal of discovering, supporting, and building the next generation of athletes within esports,” she added.

CCE Season 1 is considered one of Galaxy Racer’s premier events in the Philippines, managed and marketed by GXR Events. The tournament also gains from synergies of the business verticals of Galaxy Racer — Social media content management and digital media promotions thru GXR Digital and influencer marketing thru GXR Creators.
