From 2010-2013 Sean was Executive Vice President of Ericsson Greater China, where he was responsible for sales and operations in South China, covering the provinces of Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian and Hainan. He noted that the Philippines is one of the most dynamic markets in the region. “The Philippines has a young population, and this means we have a lot of early adopters who use mobile communications technology in innovative ways. The country’s smartphone penetration also continues to increase as devices become more affordable. In our recent Mobility Report, where we released data for South East Asia and Oceania, estimates indicate that smartphone penetration for the Philippines is around 30 percent.. Finally, urban growth will continue in the future, with ICT supporting social development. All these factors will contribute to the continued development of a strong ICT industry in the country.”

Seán is from Ireland and possesses a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from University College Dublin.
