  • The copy editor is responsible for ensuring all orders are free of errors in grammar, punctuation, tone, spelling, context, content and accuracy. The copy editor also will help copywriters improve their work by documenting errors and providing feedback. Some administrative duties are required.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    A. Editing

    • Ensure all text is in line with clients’ preferred style
    • Check accuracy of published business addresses, websites, phone numbers, advertised prices and all other relevant information
    • Check structure and flow of text, as well as grammar, spelling and punctuation

     

    B. Organization and Quality Assurance

    • Update and maintain error logs to record quality performance
    • Track orders and ensure deadlines are met
    • Work with copywriting manager to discuss team errors and ways to help writers maintain quality of work
    • Mentor copywriters when needed

     

    C. Writing

    • If necessary, take on copywriter role in processing orders

     

    Other Production Responsibilities

    • Maintaining productivity and accuracy standards for the role and submit to Performance Improvement Plan (PIP) when necessary.
    • Accepting tasks assigned by superiors and/or Team Leader with minimal handover.
    • Regularly coordinating, collaborating and interacting with team members to ensure cross-learning and continuous improvement.
    • Abiding by the policies and rules of the company and act in a professional manner at all times.
    • Performing/rendering other duties or special projects, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required, and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

  • The copywriter is responsible for generating original copy that promotes a client’s product or service and grabs the attention of the target audience. This can include writing for social media, creating sales pitches, straplines, slogans, jingles and scripts.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The understanding of work instructions and interpretation of client’s requirements and core messages
    • Familiarizing themselves with the product, target audience and competitor activities in the market
    • Brainstorming ideas and concepts for the visual and wording
    • Collaborating with other members of the creative team
    • Writing various copy options which may be presented to the client
    • Accepting copy changes from an editor and modify copy until the client is satisfied
    • Accountable for checking all the content being advertised is truthful and complies with codes of advertising practice
    • The checking and proofreading of one’s own work in terms of spelling, grammar and content before submission of their work to the copy editor

     

    Other Production Responsibilities

    • With extensive journalism, copywriting and copy editing background
    • Has training background
    • Willing to work in an 8-hour shift for day, mid or night schedule
    • Can start right away

     

    Job Description:

    • Develop writing modules, including but not limited to Search Engine Optimization, basic writing and composition, and all topics as defined in New Hire Training curriculum
    • Host writing sessions and workshops within the training period, including how to write under tight deadlines
    • Provides feedback, copy editing or QC, mentoring and weekly “report cards” to writers
    • Collaborate with Operations Managers on development of curriculum as needed
    • Mentor associate trainer or training consultant
    • Learn client specifications for use with the training modules
    • Drive copywriting training efforts for the Editorial Department
