The ROG Strix GL702ZC is the first gaming laptop with the 8-core AMD Ryzen processor

The ASUS ROG Strix GL702ZC is the first gaming laptop to run on the AMD Ryzen™ 7 processor, which has eight cores, 16 threads, and a maximum boosted speed of 3.7GHz. This multi-threaded performance is what power users need for smooth simultaneous gaming and streaming, or content creation and heavy multitasking. The Strix GL702ZC also features the AMD Radeon™ RX580 graphics, with 4GB DDR5 VRAM to handle the latest games and graphically demanding virtual reality applications. Available by October 2017, the Strix GL702Z has two variants: the one with AMD Ryzen™ 7 is priced at PHP 99,995, while the one with AMD Ryzen™ 5, PHP 84,995.

The ASUS ROG Strix GL702Z

can be specified with up to a 17.3-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS display with 178° wide viewing angles and AMD FreeSync display technology. The display is also available in multiple configurations, such as 1080p variants at 75Hz and 120Hz. Content creators and gamers who play less demanding titles will benefit from the high-resolution option, while action-packed shooters and fast-paced play titles will require the high-refresh rate alternative.

ensures smooth visuals via AMD FreeSync, which synchronizes the display’s refresh rate with the graphics card. This reduces lag, curbs frame-rate stutter, and cuts down on visual tearing. AMD FreeSync compensates for performances wrinkles so the user remains fully immersed in the game or content creation or consumption.

works with FreeSync-compatible external monitors via DisplayPort or HDMI.

features ROG Gaming Center, a dashboard that allows gamers to launch ROG applications and access the settings menu. This works with integrated applications including ROG GameFirst IV, XSplit Gamecaster, and ASUS Splendid visual technology.

has a backlit keyboard that ensures all keystrokes are instantly and correctly interpreted, even when 30 keys are pressed at once. A gamer can mash the keys in panic, in the heat of battle, and his key inputs will still be registered accurately.

is easy to carry around – the chassis is only 1.3″ thick and weighs under 7 lbs.

dons a familiar gamer-oriented design – black exterior, brushed aluminum lid, red backlighting behind the keyboard, colored caps for the WASD keys.
