Grab teams up with The Amazing Race Asia

Grab is proud to be a sponsor of The Amazing Race Asia on AXN Asia bringing another adrenaline-fueled season to Asian viewers on primetime from this Thursday, 9pm. The reality game show sponsorship offers a wider, regional platform for Grab — tapping 42 million households across 19 countries — to highlight the convenience and accessibility its transport services can bring to travellers around Southeast Asia. This is the first time a ride-hailing app will partner with a reality TV show.

Ride-hailing is now a mainstream transport option. Grab’s steady expansion over the last four years has built the most extensive city network and fleet in Southeast Asia. Supported by its 460,000 drivers, Grab provides a speedier, easier and safer way to commute in 31 cities across 6 countries. Never before has there been a fast and consistent way for passengers and travellers to book an on-demand ride across the region with just one mobile app.

At certain legs, Grab is providing the 11 team contestants comfortable rides and much needed time to strategize before duelling over local challenges, as they traverse 10 destinations in 10 episodes.

There are two teams from the Philippines — beauty queens, Parul and Maggie and TV host, Eric (Eruption) with his wife Rona.

The Grab app is the one mobile app any traveller will want when making a trip around Southeast Asia. No matter whether you are in dainty Danang taking in the beauty of the Marble Mountains or marvelling at the ingenuity of the Jalituwah rice terraces in Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our Grab fleet has you covered with one consistent, seamless ride experience around the region.

To further bring to life the convenience Grab brings to people travelling around the region, a new travel-focused television commercial has been produced and will air alongside The Amazing Race Asia on AXN Asia. It demonstrates how Grab brings effortless transportation to Southeast Asia with one app and allows passengers to seamlessly complete payments in their local currency through GrabPay, while maintaining consistency in service and safety standards.

The marketing initiative also extends to a region-wide social campaign on Grab’s Facebook pages and Instagram profiles with mini challenges similar to the on-screen competition.

Grab is proud to be a sponsor of The Amazing Race Asia, which will air on AXN Asia cable television on channel 49 on Sky Cable and Cignal TV reaching over 14 million homes and 20 million viewers in Southeast Asia alone.
