ASUS #OneDayofZen showcases the shooting prowess of the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0

In one day, ASUS Philippines treated fans and media influencers to a free photography sessions by two top photographers, and then to an outdoor photography challenge using the ASUS ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0. #OneDayofZen is both a response to the market’s growing interest about the ZenFone line up, and a follow up the success of the “100 Days of Zen” international photography contest, where 70% of winners were from the Philippines.

The centerpiece of this event is the ASUS ZenFone Laser 5.0, currently the lowest priced 5-inch phone with laser auto-focus, a feature previously available only in expensive flagship phones. You can read our review of the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.5-inch here.

Satisfied Photographers on the Convenience of Laser Auto-Focus

Back-to-back photography workshops were held by in-demand photographers, Jay Tablante and Roy Macam – both of them in-demand and known for their works in fashion, beauty, and pop culture. Both shooters shared pro tips and tricks in creating better photos from your smartphone, covered the evolution of mobile photography (smartphone cameras are getting better), discussed how good the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0 is, and walked the audience through scenarios they may face when taking pictures.

Jay Tablante (above) highlights the auto-focus speed of the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0 compared to his previous smartphones. He adds taht the images are crisp and bright, without the need for a photo app to improve photos, and that the phone rivals the more expensive smartphones out on the market.

According to Roy Macam, the ZenFone 2 Laser is faster [in terms of focus and capture speed] compared to the point and shoots available right now. “It’s my go-to device for taking quick snaps, as there is never a struggle to capture any moment,” he said. Against a DSLR, “no one can tell the difference unless you blow up the image.”

Hands on with the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0 – Outdoor Photography Challenge

After the photography workshop, all 100 invited guests were brought to the historical site of Fort Santiago, where a unique photography challenge awaited them. They were to use the ZenFone 2 Laser 5.0 and compete against each other in photo categories that include Best Selfie, Best Indoor Shot, and Best Outdoor Shot. The activity allowed guests to discover the features and capabilities and camera image quality of the ZenFone 2 Laser.
